Editorial Policy

Everything on Joe Fortune Review AU is produced to a set of editorial standards designed to keep our reviews accurate, independent and useful. Because our reviews influence real decisions - whether to sign up, deposit or claim a bonus - we hold ourselves to a clear process for creating, checking and updating content.

Our principles

Our editorial work rests on four principles: factual accuracy, independence from advertisers, transparency with readers and keeping information current. Every review and score is built on real testing, not on press releases or marketing material from casinos. We name the author of each piece and date every publication and update, so you can see who stands behind a review and how fresh it is.

How content is made

Selecting casinos. We do not cover everything. We choose sites based on their licence, their availability to Australian players, their relevance to our audience and their complaint history; sites with a record of serious misconduct are flagged as warnings rather than recommended. Testing. The reviewer personally runs the full cycle - registration, verification, deposit, play, bonus, withdrawal - using real money over several days, as described in How We Test. Writing. The same person who tested the site writes the review, so it comes from first-hand experience rather than a rewrite of someone else's words. Fact-checking. Before publishing, an editor verifies the licence status, bonus terms and game providers against the casino's own pages and the regulator. Publishing. The review goes live with the author's name (linked to their profile), the date and a score from our rating system. Updating. Reviews are revisited every three to six months, or sooner when terms, licence, ownership or player feedback change materially, with the update dated.

Fact-checking sources

We verify against primary sources. Licences are checked with the relevant regulator and, for the Australian market, against ACMA guidance and its register of blocked operators at acma.gov.au; we confirm not just that a licence exists but its current status. Bonus terms are read in full on the casino's own terms page, including wagering, max bet during play, game weightings and expiry. Game providers are confirmed in the casino lobby. Payment methods and limits are checked in the cashier after registering. Player feedback is reviewed across independent platforms such as AskGamblers, Casino Guru and Trustpilot, where we look for patterns rather than one-off complaints.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are based only on a casino's quality, the test results and our method. No casino, affiliate network or advertiser can influence a score, the content of a review or the order in which casinos appear. Commercial relationships are kept strictly separate from editorial work (see our Affiliate Disclosure). If a casino demands a guaranteed positive review as a condition of partnership, we decline, and we never remove a negative review on request.

Corrections

We aim for accuracy but mistakes happen. If you spot one, email [email protected]. We check reports within 48 hours, correct confirmed errors, and where the change is significant we add a dated note explaining what was corrected. We do not quietly rewrite history; if a review changes substantially we say why, and we mark reviews whose information has gone out of date.

Author standards

Every author at Joe Fortune Review AU must have solid hands-on experience in the iGaming space and must personally test a casino before reviewing it - we do not publish reviews built from secondary sources. Authors disclose any conflict of interest, and every review is signed with a real name linked to an author profile. Anonymous reviews are not published.
