Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Joe Fortune Review AU collects when you visit this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are an independent information site that reviews online casinos available to Australian players. We are not a casino, we do not operate gambling services, and we never ask for or store your casino account credentials.
Who we are
This website is published by Joe Fortune Review AU ("we", "us"), operating the domain landscapesolutions.co.nz. The person responsible for data handling can be reached at [email protected]. Because we serve an Australian audience, we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you visit from the European Economic Area, we also apply the relevant standards of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR"). This policy takes effect on the "last updated" date shown above and applies to every page on this site.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject you select and the message you write. That is the full extent of what you actively hand over. We do not collect payment details, casino account logins, passwords or identity documents through this site, and you should never send those to us. If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply and follow up.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, we log some technical data so the site works and stays secure. This includes your IP address (used to serve region-appropriate content and to block abusive traffic), your browser type and version, your operating system and device type, the pages you view and how long you spend on them, the page that referred you, your browser language and your screen resolution. None of this is used to build an advertising profile about you, and we do not try to identify you personally from it.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for site function, analytics and affiliate tracking. Each one is listed by name, provider and purpose in our Cookie Policy, which also explains how to switch them off.
Why we use your data
We process information for a limited set of purposes. We use analytics (Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymisation enabled) to understand which reviews are read most so we can improve them; the data is aggregated and does not identify you. We use affiliate tracking so that when you click through to a casino, the operator's affiliate programme can register that the visit came from us, which is how we fund the site (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We use technical logs to protect the site against bots, spam and denial-of-service attacks, and we use your contact-form details solely to answer you.
Legal basis
For EEA visitors under GDPR Article 6, our bases are: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for optional cookies, given through the cookie banner; our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in analytics, security and fraud prevention, namely understanding our audience and protecting the site; and performance of a request (Art. 6(1)(b)) when we respond to your contact message. You can withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time without affecting processing that already happened. For Australian visitors, collection and use follow the APPs, and we only collect what is reasonably necessary to run an information website.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we never pass it to advertising networks for targeted advertising. We do rely on a few processors: Google LLC (Google Analytics 4 and Search Console) in the United States, our hosting and security provider (for example Cloudflare) which keeps server logs, and the affiliate networks behind the casinos we link to, which receive only a technical click identifier when you click an outbound link, not your name or email. We never send your details directly to a casino; an operator only receives your information if you choose to register on its own site.
Overseas transfers
Some processors, such as Google, are based outside Australia and the EEA. Where data leaves these regions we rely on recognised safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses and adequacy decisions of the European Commission, and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable. You can ask for a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing [email protected].
How long we keep it
Contact-form messages are kept for up to 12 months after our last exchange, then deleted. Server security logs are held for about 90 days. Analytics cookies expire on their own schedule (for example, the _ga cookie lasts two years, _gid lasts 24 hours, as detailed in the Cookie Policy). Affiliate tracking cookies typically last 30 to 90 days depending on the network. Anything we are required to keep for legal reasons is retained only for the applicable limitation period, after which it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete, and (for EEA visitors) to erase it, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable machine-readable format. You can also withdraw cookie consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]; we acknowledge requests within 72 hours and respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or to your local EEA supervisory authority.
Security
All traffic to this site is encrypted with SSL/TLS, so your connection uses https. We keep our content platform and server software patched to close known vulnerabilities, restrict access to any stored contact data to authorised editorial staff only, require two-factor authentication on administrative accounts, and back up data in encrypted form. No system is ever completely secure, but these are the reasonable steps we take to protect the limited data we hold.
Children
This site is intended only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from someone under 18, we delete it promptly. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact [email protected] and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date at the top always shows the latest version, and material changes will be flagged on the site. For any privacy question, email [email protected] or use our contact page. For how cookies work specifically, see the Cookie Policy.
